HOW DID WE BEGIN?

Stephanie Hickey founded Bossy Paws Petsitters in 2018, but its roots were founded years prior to that. She grew up with a passion for animals and shared that passion with her daughter, Meghan. In 2004 they began fostering with the local rescue group, Richardson Humane Society, and loved, cared for, and found forever homes for many dogs and cats all while taking care of their own dogs, cats, bunnies, turtles, hamsters, and guinea pigs. Stephanie's friends, clients, and co-workers began to discover what she did in her spare time and started to entrust her with their own pets. Her first official paid pet sitting client was a sweet Blue Heeler puppy in 2005. From there, people began to spread the word and she gained a sizable amount of people asking her to care for their pets. She was well trusted, and had a great name as someone who truly would love your pets as her own. Meghan began to take on her own client's as well and together, they began to work towards building relationships with clients and their fur babies. By 2017, they had accumulated quite the roster, everything from a diabetic cat that needed insulin shots twice a day, to a three legged dog, and dogs from 140 pound to 5 pound dogs and everything in between. Stephanie was faced with stepping up in the job she found okay and giving up her side gig, or giving up the okay job with security, and jump-starting her business she was truly passionate about. She took the leap of faith, and Bossy Paws Petsitters, LLC was born. She brings a background in marketing, management, and customer service, and truly gives her clients a great and professional experience. She is a homeowner herself and understands that when her clients are away their home care is a top priority as well. Most importantly she brings her love, knowledge, and compassion for animals to each and every visit. It is a touch that both she and Meghan both share, and both take very seriously. Meghan worked as a veterinary kennel technician and has been a dog walker and pet sitter since she was a teenager. She fostered cats kittens, dogs, and puppies as a child along with her mother, Stephanie, and continues to work with the same group and rescue on her own as well. She brings a magnetism that dogs and cats are drawn to and a heart of service.
